Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Sir Bryan’s Pharmacy Is Your Health Defender In Enterprise!

Sometimes to find a something new and fresh you have to look to the past. Bryan Pharmacy was ready for a campaign overhaul after their Award-Winning Ninja Campaign. We knew they wanted something epic, and nothing quite compares to the legendary tales of knights fighting monsters and saving the everyday folk. From this spark of idea came, Sir Bryan the Defender of your Health.   After the initial concept came together and our client gave their support, we were able to expand upon the idea. The knights of old defended the greatest treasures as well, none greater than the legendary Holy Grail, a symbol of purity and an icon of greatness. Bryan Pharmacy is not only a defender but a pinnacle of health care. Also, the imagery of a grail as a mortar and pestle goes hand-in-hand.   After we established the Holy Grail as a major symbol in the campaign we also circled back to the image of knight, valiantly fighting against disease, discomfort, and the high prices and wait times of big chains. We wanted the owner, Brett Bryan, to be introduced as Sir Bryan, with an illustrated portrait of him as the Health Defender. We also found we could include a sword that would stand below the billboard on the billboard’s pole. Another message that Bryan Pharmacy prides themselves in, is their competitive prices against the big chains. To fit the medieval fantasy theme, we placed the big chains as a monster to be slain by your local pharmacy defenders. Altogether, this project was a great exploration of how local businesses can become larger than life and stand strong against the onslaught of big chains and outside influence. Bryan Pharmacy has been in business since 2003, but they continue a tradition of fighting against sickness that has only grown over the centuries. Find out more about Bryan Pharmacy at their website https://www.bryanpharmacy.com/ Not only has this campaign been a great success for Bryan Pharmacy, but it has continued the legacy of ADDY wins for Durden Outdoor. This campaign was a GOLD ADDY winner as well as the 2018 JUDGE’S CHOICE winner.

No Ad Skipping Here

Have you ever opened your web browser only to be bombarded with an instant barrage of ads? Pop-ups, videos, and surveys all fighting for your attention trying to drive traffic to their website. Chances are it’s a daily occurrence and chances are even better that only a small percentage of these ads are memorable to us as an audience. Forbes digital marketing experts estimate the average American sees or hears 4,000-10,000 ads per day.

As a brand, how does one most effectively navigate these over saturated waters to connect with potential consumers? You flip the script and get outside. Out Of Home (OOH) advertising is currently one of the fastest growing mediums on the market and ironically enough, even the largest tech companies like Apple and Google are taking note.

According to a recent Nielsen study, billboards boast some pretty admirable stats:

Thanks in part to the onslaught of digital noise, OOH has once again proven itself as the best bang-for-your-buck marketing tool. At a fraction of the cost of traditional media, the OOH return on investment is quite impressive. According to a Hustle article- “Radio, print, and television ads have declined in prominence, but OOH ads have enjoyed 31 consecutive quarters of growth, and a 35% increase in ad spend since 2010. By 2021, billboards are expected to grow to a $33B industry.”

They say what is old is new again and the “old-school” billboard is most certainly still a powerhouse on the advertising front. Since 1968 Durden Outdoor has been making clients FAMOUS and we are happy to see current trends reflect what OOH advertisers like us have known all along. CLICK TO SEE THE 3D NOSE VIDEO:  https://youtu.be/GD9ocJnELrM bryanpharmeditedpic Bryan Pharmacy is a locally operated pharmacy with 3 locations in Enterprise and Elba, Alabama.  Check them out at http://www.bryanpharmacy.com/ Owner Brett Bryan knows that to compete against the big chains, he has to offer customers a better experience than the “BIG CHAINS” and be creative with his marketing budget.
“Bryan Pharmacy is proud to claim the fastest prescription turnaround matched with the friendliest customer service in the Coffee County area. This is where the headline“Sniffl’n around for a faster pharm” originated from” says Durden Outdoor’s creative director Bill Durden.  “This client is always willing to push the envelope with their creative as they know it works.”  The #FamousMakers were also able to incorporate the nose element into the rest of the FAST theme by using the following headlines:
Because waiting STINKS.
Because big chains STINK.
Because you asked for 7 days. Because we help your momma and ’em.

Durden Designs 3D Billboard for Local Bankruptcy Firm

mydebtWhitaker Marketing came to Durden Outdoor with the idea of collaborating to promote their client Espy, Metcalf & Espy, P.C.   Known as Dothan’s bankruptcy lawyers, EMEPC, have more than 60 years combined in bankruptcy law, and have helped thousands of individuals and families escape or decrease crushing debt burdens. The design process of Espy, Metcalf & Espy began with several creative meetings researching the topic, defining the direction, and strategizing about the possibilities. This is when the “Ball & Chain” concept emerged from our creative minds and leapt onto the dry erase board. The expression “ball and chain” refers back to the actual ball and chain, which was a heavy metal ball secured to a prisoner’s leg by means of a chain and manacle. The ball and chain was in use in both Britain and the USA by the early 19th century (and possibly much earlier.) The earliest citation in print is from The Times, January 1819. Now, it is used as a slang term for a burden that you must carry around with you. In our design the “Ball and Chain” is a metaphor for how debt can be a burden and weigh you down. With the design sketched out, Durden’s Creative department began designing and revising the billboard. After a few ideas were mapped out the initial design was presented to the client for review. Once the concept was given a go-ahead the 3D idea developed while meeting with Durden’s production department. Excitement had sprung with this new 3D idea between all three entities! The artwork was approved and the agency decided to creatively spend their client’s ad budget on (1) stationary bulletin strategically located on Main Street in Dothan, Alabama [across from Wiregrass Church.] To add frequency and coverage to this “MY DEBT” ad campaign, they also included a digital rotary showing on our Durden Digital Network. The team at Durden then began engineering and building the 20 foot 3D Chain and Cuff to fit on the billboard. You can see how we made it by clicking HERE. Shortly after it was installed Sharon Whitaker, President of Whitaker Marketing, notified us that the client had already received a lot of positive feed back from their 3D billboard. Creating the RIGHT IDEA for the RIGHT CLIENT equals “FAMOUS” every time.   Durden Outdoor was beyond ecstatic about developing and producing this billboard campaign for Whitaker Marketing and  Espy, Metcalf & Espy, P.C.’s Bankruptcy Practice. Yes We Can Dothan's Advertising Campaign

“Yes We Can! Dothan” is a community driven group working toward helping make better schools for a better Dothan. They want to help our community realize how important our public school system is to our city. Also, they want people to know about the many good things which have happened in Dothan City Schools. They are excited to partner with Durden Outdoor to share the good news about Dothan City Schools. YWCD uses a combination of Durden’s Rotary Posters and Digital Billboards to spread the word about what great things that are happening with our schools. The initial phase with their advertising approach was to use the Durden Outdoor 4 Week Rotary Posters.  Yes We Can-Dothan received a new billboard location every 4 Weeks and really nailed down there brand by sticking with the same design for 3 months. Now on their fourth month they are starting to showcase a different design each month. By using a total of 2 billboards per month they were able to capture a large section of the Dothan market. Yes we can Dothan also rotates among our digital boards each month. They are on Justice Park – a tri-sided digital billboard display– and 84 RHR, a digital display located at the busy intersection of Main Street and Ross Clark Circle. They also appear on 84LHR & 231S, and then swap to the Westgate Parkway & Ross Clark Circle Digital Billboards.
